December 20, 2010

A special event took place Sunday for kids who might be having a tough time around the holidays.

"J.O.Y. Behind Bars Incorporated" sponsored a Christmas party for children whose parents are or have been incarcerated over the past ten years at Chattahoochee Valley Community College.

Director of the program, Eddream Lawrence told News Leader Nine, "They really enjoy it and we do too. We have a lot of fun. We have the community working with us, different churches and individuals that volunteer to help us and they're happy to do this every year. This is where they get their greatest "Joy Behind Bars"."

This is the tenth year in a row that J.O.Y. Behind Bars has sponsored the Christmas party.

THE CHILDREN OF INCARCERATED PERSONS ARE SOME OF THE MOST VULNERABLE IN SOCIETY. WE HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO ENSURE THAT THEY HAVE QUALITY OF LIFE, DIGNITY IN EDUCATION, AND PURPOSE IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH OUR J.O.Y. IN THE COMMUNITY MATTERS PROGRAM. TO ENROLL A CHILD TODAY, PLEASE USE OUR CONTACT PAGE. OUR COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ARE COVID COMPLIANT.
